Our group, the Laboratory of Experimental Cancer Immunogenomics, is a multi-disciplinary team of cancer scientists working at the intersection of genomics, molecular genetics, animal modeling, and biostatistical data sciences. We are a mix of experienced researchers, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, students and technicians.
Our goal: to better understand how the genetic features of cancer cells lead to tumor development, evasion of the immune system, and aggressive tumor behavior. This multi-faceted approach can help us to discover new biomarkers and new genetic drivers. We have focused for many years on cancers of the head and neck (especially squamous cell, salivary and thyroid cancers), as well as other cancers.
Using this approach, we have identified new cancer genes, developed new animal models, uncovered factors that cancers use to resist therapy or escape immune surveillance, and developed new predictive biomarkers for cancer immunotherapy. Through these efforts, we hope to deepen our understanding of cancer genetics, and help set the stage for the next steps of rational clinical investigation informed by molecular insights.

Disclosures
Members of the MSK Community often work with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology, and life sciences companies, and other organizations outside of MSK, to find safe and effective cancer treatments, to improve patient care, and to educate the health care community. These activities outside of MSK further our mission, provide productive collaborations, and promote the practical application of scientific discoveries.
MSK requires doctors, faculty members, and leaders to report (“disclose”) the relationships and financial interests they have with external entities. As a commitment to transparency with our community, we make that information available to the public. Not all disclosed interests and relationships present conflicts of interest. MSK reviews all disclosed interests and relationships to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether formal COI management is needed.
Luc Morris discloses the following relationships and financial interests:
